If you’re a gamer, you’ve probably found yourself staying up late playing.
You may even do it multiple times throughout the same day.
However, there is something you can do to stop the game from keeping you up.
First, a little background: Gaming, particularly playing online multiplayer games, is a relatively new phenomenon
You may have noticed, though, that this is a growing trend among your peers.
While it may be simple for you to enjoy a good video game and end the game as soon as you start feeling tired, it isn’t as simple for everyone. Others may experience bouts of gaming fatigue.
I believe this fatigue can be avoided by changing your gaming habits to more healthy ones.
Now, you’re probably wondering, “Is playing video games bad for you?” As it turns out, no.
While you’re playing the game, you aren’t engaging in other activities.
You aren’t driving, housework, going to work, or anything else that requires more than one brain. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about exhausting your brain if you choose to play a video game.
That being said, your brain will continue to react to the stimuli from your environment until you give it a break.
As a result, your body may feel tired if you play a video game for a prolonged period of time without having a break.
But how long will your brain go without something to do?
According to a recent study by the American Academy of Pediatrics, it could be a week.
It is important to note that this study did not conclude that video games are harmful to children, just that children may need a period of rest after playing a video game, especially if they are playing online.
But how can you make sure you’re playing the best video games and give yourself the best rest of your life?
The first thing you should do is make sure you have a stable internet connection.
This ensures you can’t disconnect to do anything else, but you won’t be bombarded with emails, messages, or notifications. Without the internet, you won’t be forced to run to your computer and check email every five minutes.
The next thing to keep in mind is your computer’s screen.
Although it is easy to focus on the screen, you should also keep your computer in a constant light source. A consistent light source will prevent your eyes from becoming tired.
Also, make sure you have plenty of time to play the game. Keep an eye on the clock, and don’t play the game immediately after waking up.
While this may seem like a lot of advice, it’s important to keep in mind that you’re still in control of your gaming habits. If you’re feeling tired after playing the game, consider taking a break to make sure your brain is still working correctly.
Not only will you be playing a better game, but you’ll be playing a better life, too.
It’s an addictive behavior
Aside from the health effects and anxieties the experience can create, there is also the need for the gamer to further progress and experience the game to enjoy it.
They need to just keep playing will drive you to keep going back for more, and while that may be fine and all, just know that this can be very unhealthy and can even be a sign of addiction.
Video games can get so addictive that it takes over your life, but you can slowly take steps towards moderation by taking breaks from playing for just a bit, or by just playing the same game over and over again until you can really enjoy it.
The reality is that you don’t need to put down all of your games and completely stop playing them.
But after you take the necessary steps towards recharging your batteries, taking some time out to relax and be productive will actually help you in the long run and have a positive effect on your overall health.
“Social gaming” is a myth
The reality is that video games and gaming, in general, is a big part of the culture that we all love, and as we know, in this day and age, many social games and other forms of gaming are on the rise and getting the reputation of being good for the health and overall well being.
However, I will be the first one to warn you about the connection that these kinds of social gaming games have with the issue of addiction.
While some social games are a lot healthier than others, the studies done on it haven’t shown that social gaming games have positive effects on our health.
They can, however, lead to other negative effects like body image issues, depression, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness.
While there are plenty of people out there who use these kinds of games to de-stress and escape from the stresses of everyday life, there are also a lot of people who just love playing them.
However, just remember that no matter what kind of game you play, it can still hurt you and your body. Just use these helpful tips to not only find the right balance in your video game habits but to also stop yourself from becoming addicted.
